The UK's Underworld (pictured above) has been making music for a long time now (since 1988 to be precise), and it is a testament to their talent that they have continued to sound current and innovative for so long, which makes it no easy job to remix one of their tracks. Not to worry, San Francisco's Christian Martin has not taken the task lightly. The dirtybird affiliate takes the original from Underworld's newest LP, Barking, and turns the house knob up to 11, dubbing out the vocals, throwing in some tasty percussion, and featuring an infectiously gurgling bassline...

Midland: a man whose distinct and inventive productions have been winning over critics and clubbers alike; his collaboration with Ramadanman, a captivating excursion into a shimmering marriage of deep house and garage, was no one-off.
It was shortly followed by his recent 'Play The Game' EP, an equally difficult release to pigeon hole: part future soul; part heads-down tech; part deep house - and all essential. He's also put his hands to a couple of remixes, recently turning out the pick on the Zarif 'Box Of Secrets' remix bundle.
Now Midland's giving away this full quality re-edit of Caribou's 'Sun'.

Homework hit the Exploited Records birthday this weekend at Villa, Berlin, but check out the remix snippets below from the upcoming Fissa Tune / I Got One Remix release:
This weekend sees the 3rd birthday of EXPLOITED RECORDS - the label of Berlin's own Shir Khan, taking place at Berlin's VILLA.
"Musical hybrids are truly the flavour of today, but few have managed to capture the atmosphere of an unpredictable microcosm of a night out on a recordlabel - until now. Shir Khan's label "Exploited" bottles the zeitgeist's giddy thrills with plenty of style and substance. '"Exploited" may be based in Berlin but don't expect the usual Teutonic techno tones. Instead, this is dance music hybridism in all its most glorious and technicolours forms, and Shir Khan is an expert at making square pegs fit round holes." (DJ-Mag)
"A born and bred Berliner, Shir Khan started Exploited Records in his home city in 2007. Exploited Records now plays host to some wide-ranging and innovative electronic talent - including Lorenz Rhode, Homework, Malente&Dex, Shir Khan, Consistent, Adam Sky, Siriusmo - and its artists have been receiving numerous supportive spins from the likes of Erol Alkan, Diplo, Jesse Rose and Aeroplane. Exploited Records is a seamless melting pot of varied styles that simply can't fail to please even the most discerning ears. Highlights here are plentyful. Not to be missed at any cost."(Clash)
To help celebrate on Saturday 18.10.10, Shir Khan has put together a massive line up:
Live:
GNUCCI BANANA (LIVE) (Malmö)
DJs:
MOWGLI (Exploited/Deadfish/London) MALENTE&DEX (Exploited/Berlin) SHIR KHAN (Exploited/Berlin) HOMEWORK (Exploited/Made to Play/Amsterdam) SAVAGE SKULLS (Exploited/Mad Decent/Dubsided/ Sound Pellegrino/Stockholm) JACK TENNIS (Berlin Battery) VJ ULTRAMOODEM (Exploited/Berlin)
+ Special Guests (Siriusmo & Jan Driver)
